SAMUZIK IS BACK

Singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer Samuel Siwela better known as Samuzik is set to release sophomore album titled 35 (ThreeFive).

This studio album which is divided into three parts comprises of 35 songs that are set to be released as singles through out the year.

“We wanted to release the album as an extendes play (EP) bur then decided to add 30 more cuts to it”, said the Inkomo Zamalobolo hit maker.

In an exclusive interview with ZIM GBC NEWS, Samuzik highlighted that the inspiration behind the project comes from experiences he has gone through in the past years and what he learnt from them. He added that it will touch on general issues that people face everyday, be it emotional and social.

Samuzik who is an eclectic musician also revealed that his sophomore effort features collaborations with artists from across Zimbabwe and those from abroad.

“Yes we are collaborating with a lot of artists this time. Its going to be artists from outside the city and outside the country as well. We will be announcing names soon”, said Samuzik.

The award winning Samuzik though releasing some music as a solo artists he is still part of a cover band called ‘The outfit’ that is based in Bulawayo.

Local audiences were first exposed to his solo works in 2016 with the release of a single titled ‘freedom’ in which he collaborated with rapper Asaph’s baby sister Mimie Tarukwana.

It would only take less than 12 months for him to churn out a full album titled ‘Let it shine’, which comprises of 14 tracks. It got him nominated for major awards ceremonies like the Star FM and Skyz metro awards. The stand out track was ‘Vuka’.

In the same year Skyz metro FM rewarded him for his contribution for Ngoma Ingoma compilation because of his song ‘Inkomo zamalobolo’ which captured the song of the year in Esabantu award.

Samuzik will be releasing 35 (ThreeFive) virtually, through road shows around the city and the country at large
