The Norton legislator who is in the august house as an independent since 2013 says he has done enough good works for his constituency to deserve another term.
Themba Mliswa was expelled him from ZANU-PF for participating being suspected of being under the Mai Mujuru faction and wanting to remove Mugabe from power.
Mliswa feels he deserves to be next winner for Norton has he has achieved many in disillusioning the Norton residence and representing them in and outside parliament.
” I’ve educated the people of Norton and have made them understand the Constitution, their rights, and I have also made them understand that it is them that makes development happen through participation of public hearings, constitutional forums and to be in charge of the local authorities themselves.”
Mliswa also says he has even went an extra mile to ensure that his people are getting support as he says that he has used his cash to finance different projects that benefit these people.
“I want to save this generation so that one day I’ll say I did something for the good of my country. Therefore, I have drilled boreholes, checked on sanitation in schools.”
Mliswa is also the one who formed YARD (Youth Advocacy Reform and Democracy) which advocates against drug and substance abuse all over Zimbabwe.
He quoted Victor Hugo who said: ” There’s nothing more powerful than an idea whose time have come.”
Therefore, the YARD was built upon the ideology of helping young people to prosper.
