Video gaming is increasingly becoming a commercial industry in Zimbabwe.
Previously video games were associated with children but nowadays even adults are also playing games.
When one enters a video game shop such as the one at Sokusile Shopping center in Nkulumane most times you find young people and adults queuing, waiting for their turn to play on big plasma screens.
The popular tittles are FIFA, Tekken, Blur and Need for Speed
“I started playing games when I was seven (7)years and my biggest influence was my big brother who took me to various video game arcades. He loved FIFA 14 which was available on PlayStation 2, from jump I got addicted to video games , and I also now like dream league but I am a FIFA buffer, and I just love FIFA 23 for it’s graphics which are exceptional.” Mandlenkosi Ncube, a 15 year old man from Nkulumane said.
Online giant Google has joined in the race to revolutionalise the game industry by developing games arcade, sporting and educational games such as dreamleague, Talking Angel and Soccer Director which have online multiple player options
What are the negative aspects of the video games?
