South African powerhouse Makhadzi is taking a stand against fraud, warning fans and promoters to beware of a scammer falsely claiming to represent her. Following reports of an individual soliciting money for fake performances, Makhadzi Entertainment has officially disowned the bad actor, urging the public to use only verified channels to avoid financial loss and protect the star’s brand integrity.

The award-winning performer raised the alarm via her Facebookpage, where she cautioned that an individual was falsely claiming to represent her and soliciting money under that pretence.

The alert was accompanied by an official statement from Makhadzi Entertainment.

In the notice, the company said;

“It has come to our attention that an individual identifying himself as Cyril Nzeru Skero is falsely representing himself as a booking agent for Makhadzi Entertainment and is allegedly engaging in fraudulent activities.”

The statement stressed that the individual has no ties to the organisation.

“Makhadzi Entertainment would like to categorically state that this individual is not affiliated with, authorized by, or acting on behalf of the organisation in any capacity.”

The development has raised concerns within the live events circuit, where bookings and artist engagements are often facilitated through intermediaries. Industry insiders say such scams can damage trust between artists, promoters and fans.

The company warned that any dealings with unauthorised individuals could carry significant risk.

“Any bookings, payments, or agreements made through unauthorized individuals are done entirely at your own risk, and the organisation will not be held liable for any losses incurred as a result of such engagements,” the statement read.

Fans and promoters have been urged to remain vigilant and verify all arrangements through official channels.

“Only engage through officially verified communication channels” and to “confirm all booking arrangements directly with Makhadzi Entertainment,,”the notice advised.

Known for her electrifying stage presence and chart-topping hits, Makhadzi has built a strong following across southern Africa and beyond. Her team said it remains committed to protecting both her artistic brand and the wider community from fraudulent misrepresentation.

“Makhadzi Entertainment remains fully committed to protecting its brand integrity, its stakeholders, and the public from fraudulent misrepresentation,” the statement said.
