Simba Matyarutya is a creative talent from the City of Bulawayo with a big dream.
He wants to change the male modelling industry, starting from his home country and going worldwide.
Born in Gweru, he grew up in Gwanda and now lives in Bulawayo. Simba is not just one thing he is a runway model, pageant model, fashion model, designer, and also a musician.
He started modelling when he was just 13 years old.
His journey has not been easy. In Zimbabwe, he found it hard to find agencies that focus on male models because the industry there is smaller for men.
But he did not give up. He has worked with agencies like Truth Models Academy, Conexta, and the retail brand Edgars.
His hard work is paying off he has even been nominated for Outstanding Male Model of the Year 2025.
Right now, Simba is focused on building connections with other models.
His goal is to help male modelling grow in Zimbabwe, all across Africa, and internationally.
“I see myself raising the flag of Zimbabwe this year,” he says, hoping to inspire others.
For anyone who wants to follow in his footsteps, Simba has clear advice: “Don’t give up.” He tells aspiring models to always dress well, act like a public figure, and walk with confidence everywhere they go.
He also suggests joining agencies like Conexta or Truth Models Academy to start.
Simba describes his journey as “too hard,” but now he feels he is climbing toward success and can finally see the top.
Based in Bulawayo, he is working hard to make an impact and inspire the next generation of models.
