NEW PARTY UNVEILS “PEOPLE-CENTRIC” SLOGAN ECOSYSTEM FOR ZIMBABWE ELECTION

Zim GBC News | Political Desk

HARARE – A new political architecture centred on the mantra “From the People, By the People, With the People” has been launched, positioning itself as a direct antithesis to what it terms “elite, disconnected governance.” The comprehensive slogan ecosystem, developed for the National Progressive Democrats (NPD), aims to frame the upcoming electoral contest as a choice between participatory democracy and top-down rule.

The framework is designed to permeate all campaign communications, from policy announcements to provincial rallies. A party strategist, speaking on background, explained the core philosophy.

“This isn’t just a slogan. It’s a contract,” the strategist said.

“‘FROM the People’ means policies originate in your lived experience, your ideas, your needs. ‘BY the People’ means implementation happens through your labour, your entrepreneurship, your community action. ‘WITH the People’ means benefits are shared, progress is inclusive, and no one is left behind.”

Strategic Political Framing

The rollout includes direct contrasts with established political forces. Against the ruling party, the narrative is sharp:

“They govern FROM the elite, BY the connected, FOR themselves. We offer: FROM the people, BY the people, WITH the people.”

For voters disillusioned with a fragmented opposition, the message is:

“Other parties: Ideas FROM leaders, promises BY politicians. NPD: Solutions FROM you, implementation WITH you.”

The slogan adapts into specific policy areas. For economic revival:

“Jobs from Our Hands, Growth by Our Work, Prosperity with Our People.” For governance:

“Accountability From Below, Leadership by Merit, Service with Integrity.” For national healing: “Unity from Diversity, Strength by Inclusion, One Zimbabwe with All.”

Provincial & Demographic Customization

Notably, the framework has been localized. Proposed slogans for Matabeleland focus on “Water from Our Dams, Power by Our Sun, Growth with Our People,” while Mashonaland variants emphasize “Food from Our Fields, Security by Our Farmers, Abundance with Our Nation.”

Taglines target key demographics, promising women;

“Safety from Our Laws, Empowerment by Our Policies,” and telling the diaspora,

“Skills from Abroad, Investment by Diaspora, Development with Homeland.”

Visual Identity and Rollout

A visual identity accompanies the verbal framework, featuring three interlocking hands in green, gold, black, and white.

Social media campaigns will drive hashtags like;
#FromByWithThePeople and

NPDPeoplePower.

The implementation plan is detailed, instructing candidates to tell voters,

“I don’t just seek your vote. I seek your voice — because this campaign is FROM you, BY me, WITH our community.”

The slogans have been translated into major local languages:

Shona (“Kubva kuVanhu, Nevanhu, Kuvanhu”) and Ndebele

(“Kusukela kubantu, Ngabantu, Nabo bonke abantu”), aiming for deep grassroots penetration.

Political analysts suggest this cohesive, multi-pronged messaging strategy represents a sophisticated attempt to unify protest votes under a single, participatory brand, directly challenging the incumbent’s narrative of legacy and liberation pedigree.
