FC Platinum Says Farewell to Polyster Shoko and Misheck Ngwenya Amid Squad Overhaul‎

‎ FC Platinum has officially parted ways with two of its standout players, Polyster Iniesta Shoko and Misheck Ngwenya, as part of a wider squad reshuffle in the club ahead of the 2026 season.

‎Polyster Shoko, affectionately known as “Maestro,” announced his departure from the former Zimbabwean champions, expressing gratitude for the support and camaraderie he experienced during his time at the club.

‎”I am grateful for all the support and friendship I received while at FC Platinum. Farewell to the club,” Shoko said.

‎Shoko, a defensive midfielder, began his professional career with Shabanie Mine and Midlands State University (MSU) FC before moving to TelOne FC, where he became a key figure in the midfield.

‎ In July 2024, he joined FC Platinum under coach Norman Mapeza, bringing depth and stability to a midfield that featured stars such as Brian Banda and Juan Mutudza.

‎Over the course of 2024 and 2025, Shoko played an instrumental role in helping FC Platinum maintain its dominance in the Premier Soccer League.

‎Meanwhile, left-back defender Misheck Ngwenya has also bid farewell after joining the club in January 2023. Ngwenya quickly established himself as a first-team regular under Mapeza, earning praise for his performances both at left-back and centre-back positions.

‎”Thank you FC Platinum for the shared memories, the passion, and the unwavering support. The years we had were incredible, full of unforgettable moments, and I will forever cherish that,” Ngwenya reflected.

‎Ngwenya, who previously played for Greenfuels FC, Chiredzi Stars FC, and Triangle United FC, made his debut in the Castle Challenge Cup in February 2023, impressing fans and management alike. His time at FC Platinum is remembered as a high point in his career.

‎The departures of Shoko and Ngwenya mark the end of an era for FC Platinum, as the club looks to rejuvenate its squad and prepare for upcoming challenges in domestic and regional competitions.
