Rolex Paris Masters tennis tournament is set to kick off its 50th edition today 29 October up to 6 September 2022 at Accor Arena in Bercy, Paris, France.
The French Capital is known for its outdoor Eiffel tower. But deep in the heart of France, there awaits the indoor tennis event, the Rolex Paris Masters formerly known as the French Covered Court Championship before Rolex had its title ownership rights accredited.
The tournament will be played indoors and is a masters 1000 event. The Rolex Paris Masters is the second biggest tennis event on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Tour after the French Open.
The must watch tournament promises to be a thriller with sumptuous match ups.
Players expected to take part are Carlos Alcaraz who is the number 1 ranked ATP singles player in the world above Rafael Nadal. Nadal is also competing. The defending champion Novak Djokovic (Men’s Singles) has won the tournament 6 times since 2009 and was a runner up in 2018.
Can the most successful male singles player at the Paris Masters and World record holder of most wins at the tournament of 41 in 49 matches win once more or will Alcaraz who won his first ever Grand Slam title in the U.S Open earlier this year continue with his great 2022 dominance.
Norwegian Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev, Russian Daniil Medvedev who won the tournament in 2020 and the legendary 2011 winner Roger Federer are part of the line up.
The winner will walk away with five and a half million Euros.
