The Musicians Night hosted by Mazula Music at the Hillside Dams was the last for this year.

Founded by Vusa and Zoë Mazula, the Musicians Night has been hosted for a year now and it has been a weekly event.

Since its an outdoor venue (Hillside dams), the concert is usually put on hold during winter and rainy seasons.

It was a crazy night for the duo, their guitar was snapped when they opened the case but they made a plan. When the event began, the public announcement, (PA) system suddenly stopped working and a gentleman from the audience had to fetch his personal mixer and lend it to them, then all went ahead.

It was a great night after all the set backs.

“We are aiming to host more concerts because we enjoy performing with local musicians since we are not only awesome to deal with, but are true channels of pure talent. We showcase local musicians at this event, we give newcomers space for them to increase their audience and improve their stage skills. On Friday we hosted Black Mamba Man and us, Mazula music”, added Zoë.

Mazula is simply a musical journey of Vusa and Zoe Mazula. They wander through life writing, collaborating and performing their wanderings.

Zoë went on to say,

“We put our value to food forestry projects, spreading creative learning techniques and empowerment. We perform as a Duo, Trio or as a full band. Over the years we have collected over 7 hours of song material including a wide range of songs from England, America and Africa. We play at various festivals, markets, venues and events. We also perform our music at weddings and house parties.”

Zoë added that they select top tunes for the whole family, for people at beer drinks and dinners. They can also perform songs learnt on request.

“Music has the power to unite, heal and empower every person it touches. We go where our music bookings take us and we collaborate with local musicians wherever we go. We are currently based in Zimbabwe but we travel to other Southern African countries and the United Kingdom regularly for shows “, explained Zoë.

They have been called to perform in Harare at other events. They will be playing at Jam Tree on Wednesday 26th of October, at Tristan’s Half Bar on Friday 28th of October and at the Sushi Festival on Sunday 30th of October.
