HARARE – The Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) has disowned a widely circulated social media message claiming to announce orientation dates for 2026 Registered General Nurse (RGN) intakes, labelling it fake and misleading.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the Ministry urged the public to disregard the notice, which is being shared on WhatsApp and other platforms, and cautioned against responding to it.

“The message, which directs enquiries to a WhatsApp number, did not originate from MoHCC and is not sanctioned by the Ministry,” the statement read.

The Ministry clarified that all official communication regarding nursing recruitment, training schedules, and orientation is distributed only through recognized government channels.

“All official information on nursing recruitment, intake, orientation and training is communicated exclusively through Government mainstream newspapers and its official social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook,” MoHCC emphasized.

It further warned the public to verify information before sharing and to report suspicious notices, noting that spreading false information that causes public alarm is a punishable offence.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and maintaining public trust in the health sector, urging aspiring nurses and the general public to rely solely on verified official sources for updates.
