Rodwell Thabe Confirmed as Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League CEO

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has officially appointed Rodwell Thabe as its substantive Chief Executive Officer.

Thabe, who has been serving as Acting CEO since February 2025, has been part of the PSL since 2012. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, alongside other professional qualifications.

The PSL Board of Governors said the appointment followed a rigorous, merit-based selection process aimed at identifying a leader capable of driving the League’s strategic vision, strengthening administrative structures, and steering its next phase of growth and commercial development.

During his tenure as Acting CEO, Thabe was praised for his professionalism, strategic leadership, and commitment to operational efficiency. Under his guidance, the League experienced enhanced stability, decisive action, and tangible progress in improving organisational performance.

“Mr. Thabe has our full confidence, and we will support him as he guides the PSL toward a new chapter of professional excellence and sustainable growth,” read part of the statement.

Thabe’s appointment marks a new chapter for the PSL, emphasizing professional excellence, financial sustainability, and the continued development of competitive football across Zimbabwe.
