ZIMSEC Moves to Quell Leak Rumours, Reaffirms Exam Integrity

By Dennis Ndlovu| Zim GBC News

In a firm and decisive move to address circulating rumours, the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has issued a strong public reassurance, declaring the ongoing November 2025 examination session free of leaks and fully secure.

The statement, released officially this week, served as a direct counter to any speculation, aiming to settle the nerves of a nation deeply invested in the integrity of its educational assessments.

The Council’s message was unambiguous and left no room for doubt. With a tone of absolute certainty, it stated:

“The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) issues this statement to categorically reassure all candidates, parents, guardians, and the nation that the November 2025 examinations are proceeding as scheduled, with their integrity fully intact.”

Addressing the most damaging of the rumours head-on, the statement contained a simple, powerful sentence designed to end the debate.

“There has been no leakage of any ZIMSEC question paper for the November 2025 examination session.”

The Council chronicled the journey of the exam papers, from conception to the examination hall, explaining that its “multi-layered security protocols” have been strictly adhered to and have proven effective. It acknowledged that while minor issues may arise, they are swiftly managed under established standard operating procedures.

Painting a picture of a nation-wide process unfolding without major incident, ZIMSEC reported positively on the conduct of the examinations so far. It commended the candidates for their focus and discipline and extended a sincere gratitude to the examination officials and security personnel for their unwavering dedication and professionalism.

However, the statement also carried a stern warning, a reminder of the serious consequences that await those who threaten the system’s credibility. In a clear message to potential malefactors, the Council emphasised its zero-tolerance stance, declaring.

“ZIMSEC treats any form of examination malpractice with the utmost seriousness, and promised that offenders would face severe legal and administrative consequences.”

The chronicle of the exam season, according to ZIMSEC, is one of control, order, and vigilant oversight. The Council said by pledging to continue its watchful monitoring until the final paper is written, firmly restating its commitment.
