The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has officially opened the electronic application platform (eMAP) for 2026 Form 1 boarding school places.
In a public notice issued, the Ministry advised parents and guardians to access the online application portal at www.emap.co.zw/Form1Enrol/. The platform will remain open until 31 December 2025.
Applicants are allowed to select up to five boarding schools, with the system treating all five choices equally not as ranked preferences.
The Ministry emphasized that once a school offers a place and a child is accepted, all other pending applications are automatically cancelled, as each learner can only hold one boarding offer at a time.
Warning on Declining Offers
The Ministry issued a critical advisory on the implications of rejecting a school offer. If an offer is declined:
- The spot will be given to another applicant immediately.
- The offer cannot be reclaimed once declined.
- Declining is final and could result in the child failing to secure any boarding placement. “Boarding places are limited. Apply for schools you are genuinely willing for your child to attend. If you receive an offer, consider it carefully,” the Ministry urged.
It also reassured parents that alternative Form 1 placements remain available at day schools across the country, with the Government having made adequate provisions.
The Ministry advising parents or guardians to make informed choices and to be guided accordingly throughout the application process.
