Bulawayo —The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education in Zimbabwe has issued a clarification regarding scholarships advertised on social media, stating that the call for applications was made by the Forum for African Women Educationists Zimbabwe (FAWEZI), not by the ministry itself.
According to the ministry’s press release dated October 23, 2025, the FAWEZI scholarships are intended for marginalized young women and men pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Scholarship Details:
- Eligibility: Post-Ordinary Level and Advanced Level candidates
- Application Forms: Available at Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education offices, FAWEZI offices, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Provincial Offices, and Local Primary and Secondary Education District Offices
- Downloadable Forms: (link unavailable)
“The call for these scholarships was made by FAWEZI, not by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education,” said the ministry in its press release.
The scholarships aim to support marginalized students in pursuing STEM careers, aligning with Zimbabwe’s efforts to promote education and development.
“We urge all interested candidates to apply through the designated channels and follow the application procedures outlined by FAWEZI,”
said a ministry spokesperson.
For more information, interested parties can visit the FAWEZI website or contact the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education directly.
