In a highly anticipated move, Zimbabwean dancehall king Winky D and Jamaican superstar Busy Signal have released their collaborative single, “Drink Up (Problems Away),” setting the stage for their upcoming performance at the Kadoma Music Festival.
The track, produced by Layan Souljah and recorded by Oskid, seamlessly blends Zimbabwean urban grooves with authentic Jamaican dancehall, creating an infectious rhythm that has quickly gained traction on airwaves and social media platforms.
A source close to the production team stated,
“This collaboration has been in the works for some time. The goal was to create a universal sound that speaks to the shared experiences in the dancehalls of both Zimbabwe and Jamaica. The response so far has been phenomenal.”
The song’s celebratory theme of momentary escape and unity is resonating deeply with fans. Many have already dubbed it the unofficial anthem for the Kadoma Music Festival, where the two artists are scheduled to share the stage on October 11.
A festival organizer commented,
“We are thrilled to see the energy this song has generated. It perfectly captures the spirit of what we want to achieve at the festival—a celebration of music, culture, and resilience. The potential live debut of this track here in Kadoma will be a historic moment for Zimbabwean music.”
The accompanying AI-generated music video, directed by Jusa Demantor, adds a futuristic visual dimension to the cross-continental partnership, further amplifying its global appeal.
“Drink Up (Problems Away)” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
