The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has launched a new independent Ethics Line aimed at promoting integrity, accountability, and transparency within football.
The service, managed by Axcentium as a neutral third-party provider, gives players, officials, employees, and all stakeholders a safe and confidential way to report corruption, fraud, harassment, discrimination, conflicts of interest, or other policy breaches. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi said the initiative represents a milestone in protecting the integrity of the game.
“Football belongs to the people, and with that comes a responsibility to protect the game’s integrity. By introducing the Ethics Line, we are making it clear that accountability and transparency are not optional values, but essential principles that must guide all of us, especially those entrusted with leadership,” Magwizi stated.
He added that the service goes beyond compliance, noting that it seeks to raise standards and build a culture of responsibility across all levels of football.
“We are determined to set new standards for football governance in our country. Every administrator, coach, player and official must understand that they are accountable, and that protecting the game’s reputation is a collective duty. Integrity is not negotiable,” he stressed.
The Ethics Line is supported by a strict non-retaliation policy, guaranteeing confidentiality and fairness in the handling of all reports.
ZIFA believes the platform will empower whistleblowers, strengthen trust, and safeguard the future of Zimbabwean football.
With the launch of the Ethics Line, ZIFA has placed integrity at the centre of its reform agenda. The association believes that safeguarding football from misconduct is not only vital for the game’s credibility but also for ensuring it continues to inspire future generations.
By embracing openness and accountability, ZIFA has set a benchmark for governance in sport, one that calls on every stakeholder to play their part in protecting the beautiful game.
