Warriors striker Prince Dube returns to his club Azam FC after spending several months on the sidelines through injury.

The former Highlanders FC player was in Cape Town getting treatment to a hernia injury.

On Tuesday Dube had a light training session with the team for the first time after spending months getting medical attention.

According to reports Dube was also struggling with an abdominal ailment since mid-May.

He missed the last games of the previous campaign and only returned to action early this month when he featured in a pre-season friendly match in Zambia.

But the medical issue got complicated again, and the player was sent to South Africa for an operation.

“Our striker, Prince Dube, has already started light training and is ready to return to the field for competitive matches,” Azam announced on Tuesday.

Dube had a fruitful maiden season in the Tanzanian league where he scored 14 league goals to finish third in the race for the Golden Boot.

The 23-year-old striker signed for Azam from Highlanders on August 17, 2020.

Prince Dube joined South African side Supersport United in search for greener pastures,  but the grass was not so green on the other side.

He came back home as he featured in the Warriors African National Championship (CHAN) team where he became one of the key players alongside Dynamos skipper Patson Jaure and Peter Mudhuwa from Highlanders FC helping Zimbabwe to qualify for Cameroon CHAN tournament.

He was part of Loga’s squad for the AFCON qualifiers as he scored a crucial goal at the giant National Sports Stadium against Algeria in a 3-3 stalemate game.

In 2020 finally the sun rose for Dube as he successfully joined Tanzanian Club Azam FC becoming a key player in the team.
