MUREHWA – A principal at a private school in Murehwa has been arrested following serious allegations of indecently assaulting four of his male students.
Hamilton Manyika, who is also a member of the Salvation Army church, was arrested at Juru Growth Point after the alleged abuses, which are said to have occurred in his office on different days, were reported.
The matter came to light after one of the students disclosed the abuse during a counselling session, prompting immediate action from authorities.
Police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the arrest, which has sent shockwaves through the local community.
Expressing outrage and betrayal, one of the guardians of the victims stated,
“This man betrayed our trust and abused the children he is supposed to protect and educate.”
The case highlights ongoing concerns about the safety of students in educational institutions and the breach of trust by those in positions of authority.
