The gospel music community is in mourning today following the sudden passing of beloved Rwandan artist Musabyimana Gloriose, widely known by her stage name, Gogo, who was 36 years old.
Gogo passed away on the night of September 3, 2025, in Uganda after a short and sudden illness. Her death was confirmed by a medical report from the Kyegera Doctors Center.
According to her close associate, Bikem Uwayesu, Gogo had traveled from Rwanda on August 28 to participate in a gospel crusade in Mbarara, Uganda, which ran from August 29 to 31. Following the successful event, she and her team traveled to Kampala for a promotional engagement.
Tragically, shortly after arriving in the capital city, Gogo fell ill. Her condition deteriorated rapidly, and she was rushed to the hospital. She was pronounced dead upon arrival, sending shockwaves through her circles of family, friends, and fans.
Uwayesu, who was with her during the trip, remembered Gogo as more than just an artist. “She was a passionate servant of God who inspired many through her music and ministry,” Uwayesu said.
Gogo was a celebrated figure, not only in gospel music but also as a popular TikTok personality. She had a unique and joyful presence that resonated with a young audience. Fans will fondly remember her for her catchy English phrases like “I going” and “Guud bayi!”—signature terms that brought a smile to everyone who heard them.
Her passing leaves a significant void in the Rwandan music scene and the hearts of those she touched with her vibrant spirit and unwavering faith.
Tributes have begun pouring in online, with fans using her famous phrases to say their goodbyes, remembering a woman whose light shone brightly, even if far too briefly.
