Harare, Zimbabwe – Dubai-based hospitality brand Leva Hotels is set to make its Southern African debut with a new upscale hotel in Harare, breathing new life into the city’s historic Chester House building at 88 Speke Avenue.

The transformation of the iconic city-centre landmark into Ekono by Leva @ Chester House will introduce a three-star, design-led hotel featuring 117 rooms blending modern amenities with subtle local design touches. The project is developed in partnership with Revitus Property Opportunities Real Estate Investment Trust (Revitus REIT).

JS Anand, Founder and CEO of Leva Hotels, said:

“This project will connect Dubai’s expertise in design-led, affordable upscale hotels with Africa’s growing tourism and business markets, while adding lasting value to the local community and economy.”

The hotel will cater to both business and leisure travellers, offering ergonomic workstations, smart technology, an all-day dining restaurant, a café lounge, and flexible meeting spaces.

The move reinforces Zimbabwe’s growing appeal as a tourism destination, boosted by direct flight links to Dubai, Johannesburg, Lusaka, and Nairobi.

The Harare opening is part of Leva’s rapid expansion into high-growth markets across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. The group recently announced its luxury brand, Zen by Leva, with its first five-star property set to open in Saudi Arabia.
