BULAWAYO giants Highlanders head coach is confident of scooping 3 points in the Castle Larger Premiership week 4 clash against Hwahwa at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo on Sunday

Before the domestic Premier League went on break Highlanders struggled infront of goal.

Highlanders have hunted for a striker, but could not find one. The team signed only one striker before the close of the January transfer window, Stanley Ngala from FC Platinum.

Team gaffer Mandla Mpofu is so confident of his new signings. He is happy with his team as preparations are going well so far.

On Thursday Highlanders held a pre-match press conference were Mpofu said that he is focused on this coming match.

“Before the break we were struggling here and there, that is history now we are back in business. Our focus as a team is to play against Hwahwa and get three points.”

According to the coach, one problem has been solved, he believes the coming in of Stanley Ngala is a solution to ‘goal drought’ problem.

“Ngala is here to prove a point he is here to score goals, at Platinum he was given less game time but whenever he had a chance he scored.”

“He has been scoring goals during our training, in our next match if he does not score I think he will assist,” added Mpofu.

It seems Mandla Mpofu is not yet satisfied with the players he signed for Bulawayo giants Highlanders. He is still craving for more.

On his wishlist he had two strikers Stanley Ngala and Obriel Chirinda. While he managed to sign Ngala he failed to get Chirinda’s signature.

“We still have an opportunity to bring in some new players especially the strikers. I think we need one or two strikers.”

Highlanders brought in goalkeeper Raphae Pitisi from TelOne, Rahman Kutsanzira and Stanley Ngala both from Zvishavane side FC Platinum.

Bulawayo giants are currently sitting on position 16 with one point from three outings. On 6 November last year they played against Black Rhinos away from home and lost by two goals to nil, in their second match against Ngezi stars and salvaged a point after the two sides drew 0-0.

Highlanders went on to lose to well resourced side Manica Diamonds by a goal to nil away from home.

Bosso find themselves in an unfamiliar position in the Premier League and if they lose to Whawha, they will sink deep onto the danger zone.
