Zimbabwe Cricket is entering a crucial stretch on the international circuit, with both the Chevrons and Lady Chevrons set to step onto the crease for defining contests at home and abroad that could shape the trajectory of their respective campaigns.

The Harare Sports Club will be the battleground as the Chevrons welcome Sri Lanka for a white-ball face-off that promises to be a run-fest. The series kicks off on August 2 with the first ODI, followed by a quick turnaround on August 31 for the second.

Both fixtures, set to begin at 9:30 am local time, are expected to test Zimbabwe’s batting engine and bowling precision, especially against a Lankan line-up known for their calculated aggression in the middle overs.

After the 50-over skirmishes, the spotlight shifts to the shortest format. A three-match T20I series is lined up for September 3, 6, and 7, where the big hitters will look to clear the ropes and death bowlers will be under pressure to nail their yorkers. The Chevrons will see this as a key dress rehearsal ahead of upcoming ICC global showdowns.

Meanwhile, the Lady Chevrons are gearing up for a crunch tournament in Windhoek, Namibia, where they will compete in the Africa Region Division One Qualifier the first hurdle on the road to the T20 World Cup. Their campaign gets underway against hosts Namibia (Aug 31), followed by Sierra Leone (Sep 11 and Nigeria (Sep 3).

Every game will be treated like a knockout, with net run rate likely to play the role of silent judge in a tight Group A.

Zimbabwe’s tweakers will have a major say on Namibia’s slower wickets, while the batters will need to rotate strike efficiently against tidy new-ball spells.

Looking ahead to 2026, the Lady Chevrons will face a stern away challenge in New Zealand, touring the Kiwi nation for a limited-overs series beginning February 25. The tour features three T20Is in Hamilton, followed by three ODIs in Dunedin.

The green, seaming conditions will be a sharp contrast from home surfaces, putting Zimbabwe’s technique and temperament under the microscope.

Swinging deliveries, bouncy decks, and lightning-fast outfields will demand disciplined cricket and mental toughness
