Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League is back in action after a Covid-19 long induced break.
The last PSL game was played on 19 December last year.
Ambitious side Bulawayo Chiefs shook off the break dust by beating reigning champion FC Platinum by 2-0 margin.
The match was played on a hot Sunday afternoon at Luveve Stadium in Bulawayo. This was week 3 of a rescheduled football match fixtures.
The Ninjas as Bulawayo Chiefs are affectionately known were too hot to handle for the defending champions as they found the back of the net in the early stages of the game courtesy of Mthokozisi Msebe.
Msebe headed a cross from Perfect Chikwende just six minutes into the. The flashing header have Platinum goalminder, Petros Mhari, no chance.
Newly signed foward Obriel Chirinda was to registered his first goal for Bulawayo Chiefs after beating Mhari from the penalty spot in the 47th minute. Chirinda sent the Warriors hero the wrong direction.
Three newly signed players, Kelvin Madzongwe, Obriel Chirinda and Perfect Chikwende were on the Ninjas’ starting eleven with the two of them directly involved in both goals. Chikwende assisted in the first goal whereas Chirinda scored the second goal two minutes after the half time break.
Meanwhile struggling Harare side CAPS United managed to grab a point away from home.
Makepekepe played against Black Rhinos at Sakubva Stadium in Mutare on yesterday afternoon the match ended in a 1 all draw.
William Manondo marked his first game for CAPS United with a third minute goal.
Black Rhinos snatched an equalizer to deny the Green Machine three points.
On Saturday Chicken Inn thrashed Tenax by three goals to nil. Goals coming in from Malvin Whata with a brace and Brian Muza scoring the other.
