Madzongwe To Face Former Club

Bulawayo Chiefs new signing, midfielder Kelvin Madzongwe, is set to face former club FC Platinum in a rescheduled Castle Larger Premiership tomorrow.

Bulawayo Chiefs will face Norman Mapeza led side, FC Platinum at Luveve Stadium this Sunday afternoon.

Madzongwe was part of the 2021 AFCON Warriors squad which failed to go past group stages in Cameroon last month.

In a pre-match press conference held on Friday Madzongwe said that his focus is now on his new home.

Madzongwe said

“I gained a lot of experience from my former club FC Platinum but now my focus is on Bulawayo Chiefs my new home.”

Madzongwe said that he came to Bulawayo Chiefs to share knowledge and experience with the young players at Bulawayo Chiefs.

“I’m here to share knowledge and experience that I got from FC Platinum for the past years”, said Madzongwe.

Bulawayo Chiefs signed experienced and quality players during the January transfer window. They signed Obriel Chirinda, Kelvin Madzongwe, Perfect Chikwende among other players.

Bulawayo Chiefs is focusing more on building a strong foundation before they target the championship.

The team head coach Nilton Terrosso stated that as a club they are not obsessed on immediate success but they are building for the future.

He said,

“We are not obsessed with immediate success but as a club we are trying to sustain consistence and find stability in the league.”

The signing of big names in the domestic league by Bulawayo Chiefs has exerted pressure on the senior coach. Fans are expecting the best from the ambitious side.

“Yes there is a bit of pressure but I was expecting it, its part of football but its something that we can live with I’m glad that we have improved a lot”

“We want to win games and as well to keep on inproving as a team.” added Terrosso.

Bulawayo Chiefs played two games at the beginning of the season began late last year and they managed to collect four points a win and a draw.

Meanwhile the ambitious side has partnered with Moors World Of Sport (MWOS) for a financial sponsorship deal for the next twelve months with an option to extend.

MWOS will be Chiefs’ principal kit sponsor, through the club’s Amakhosi Wear.

The club revealed in a statement.

“We are pleased to announce that we have entered into an agreement with Moors World of Sport (MWOS) to receive various forms of assistance during the course of the year, with the option to extend for the coming years.

According to the statement by the club their deal with MWOS goes beyond financial funding but also helps the development of football in Bulawayo.

“This relationship goes beyond financial funding, as we believe this partnership can play a great role in helping the growth and development of Bulawayo Chiefs Fc and the football in general, Mwos will come in to ensure gradually growth of the team by picking out other areas of need in our day to day business including taking care of the kits and regalia.

In the other fixtures slotted for this weekend, Chicken Inn FC will face Tenax FC at Luveve Stadium whereas Black Rhinos FC will take on troubled CAPS United FC at Sakubva Stadium.
