PSL Summons Dynamos and Coach Chaminuka Over Match Abandonment

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has officially summoned Dynamos FC and their head coach Saul Chaminuka to appear before its Disciplinary Committee following the controversial abandonment of their match against FC Platinum on Sunday, 22 June 2025.

The match, played at Mandava Stadium, was brought to a premature halt after Dynamos allegedly walked off the pitch in protest of a penalty awarded to FC Platinum. Head coach Saul Chaminuka is believed to have ordered the walk-off, triggering disciplinary proceedings from the league’s governing body.

In a press release dated 25 June 2025, the PSL confirmed the charges.

“The Premier Soccer League has summoned Dynamos FC to appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee following the abandonment of their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against FC Platinum,” the statement reads.

The PSL stated that the Harare giants face serious allegations.

“Dynamos FC is being charged with causing the abandonment of a match and ungentlemanly conduct by the team’s technical officials,” the league wrote.

Coach Chaminuka will appear alongside the club in front of the committee.

“Dynamos FC head coach Saul Chaminuka has also been summoned to appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee,”the PSL confirmed.

The PSL elaborated on the charges against the coach, citing multiple breaches. “His charges include disturbing the normal proceedings of a match,” the statement detailed, highlighting Chaminuka’s alleged role in escalating the situation.

The statement added that Chaminuka is facing charges of causing abandonment, ungentlemanly conduct and issuing reckless statements to the media likely to bring the game, sponsors, the League, ZIFA, CAF or FIFA into disrepute.

The PSL emphasized the gravity of the matter, reinforcing its commitment to professionalism and sportsmanship.

“These charges stem from actions that violate the standards expected in professional football,” the statement implied

The hearing’s date and venue was confirmed by Premier Soccer League

“The disciplinary hearings will take place at the PSL offices on Tuesday 8 July 2025 at 1730hrs,” statement reads.

In a strongly worded statement, the PSL declared: “The PSL is committed to protecting the integrity of the game and ensuring all stakeholders uphold the values of respect and fair play.”
