Bulawayo- A man from Upper Rangemore Suburb in Bulawayo has died due to electrocution.
Reports emanating from police reports that the unidentified man was electrocuted while performing his ironing duties at his work place. He later died on his way to hospital.
Bulawayo Press and Liason Officer Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed that the incident happened on Wednesday afternoon.
The 24 year old man was at his workplace ironing using an electric steam iron when a sruge threw him to the floor. The power surge sent the main switch tripping when he was thrown to the floor.
A 59 year old workmate who was on the scene rescued him by using a wooden plank to seperate him from the electric steam iron which was still clinging onto his hand.
He was quickly rushed to a surgery in the City where he was unfortunately pronounced dead before admission.
Insp. Ncube advises the general public to continually check for naked wires that may cause short circuits.
