Reigning champions Simba Bhora extended Highlanders’ misery with a dramatic 3-2 victory in a pulsating Premier League encounter on Sunday, leaving the Bulawayo giants winless in their last five matches.
Emmanuel Ziocha struck twice, while Isakar Gurirab added another as Simba Bhora outlasted a spirited Highlanders side in a match filled with defensive errors and late drama.

Simba Bhora drew first blood in the 12th minute when Gurirab capitalised on a defensive lapse, slotting home after a neat assist from Junior Makunike.
Highlanders responded in the 21st minute through Melikhaya Ncube, who powered in a close-range header after Mason Mushore’s acrobatic effort.
Another defensive mistake cost Highlanders dearly just before halftime, as Arthur Ndlovu was dispossessed by Gurirab, who teed up Ziocha for a composed finish past goalkeeper Raphael Pitisi.
Highlanders fought back in the 80th minute, with Never Rauzhi unleashing a thunderous strike from the right flank to level the score, sending the Bosso faithful into raptures.
However, their joy was short-lived, as Ziocha volleyed home the winner just two minutes later, sealing a hard-fought victory for the visitors.
Highlanders’ Struggles Continue
The defeat extends Highlanders’ winless run to five matches (three losses, two draws), piling pressure on the club’s technical team.
Before the international break, they had suffered a 1-0 loss to Herentals, and their latest setback leaves them 10th on the log with 19 points from 15 games.

Meanwhile, MWOS FC’s lead at the top was cut to two points after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Triangle FC, who twice came from behind.
Scottland FC moved into third place after a 1-0 win over Kwekwe United, courtesy of Tymon Machope’s first-half strike.
