It is true, history has a tendency if repeating itself, but in this case, the cause is unknown.

A Cain and Abel scenario has unfolded again, this time in Bulawayo’s Sizinda neighborhood, in the western outskirts of the city.

Two brothers, Artwell Ndlovu (32) and Abbie Ndlovu (40), both male and residing at the same address, were involved in a heated altercation that took a deadly turn, Abbie was found murdered at the hands of his sibling.

Artwell Ndlovu’s arrest has been confirmed by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) after a strenuous effort to apprehend him.

The father of the two brothers narrates a harrowing find when he returned home.

“On the 29th of May 2025, at around 1700 hours, I left home without any issues. I returned the following day, the 30th of May 2025, at around 0700 hours in the morning and found Abbie lying lifeless in the dining room in a pool of blood, with intestines protruding from his stomach, multiple stab wounds all over his body, and a broken arm,” stated Ndlovu Senior, the father of both the accused and the deceased.

Overwhelmed by the gruesome scene, the father alerted neighbors, and with the community’s assistance, authorities were informed.

By the time the police arrived, the accused had already disappeared.

Investigations pointed to his possible refuge at another brother’s house in Pumula South, Bulawayo. A swift response team—including CID Homicide, CID Forensic, Canine Unit, and ZRP Tshabalala officers—proceeded to Pumula.

Though the accused was not immediately found, blood-soaked clothes were discovered outside the house.

“We spotted the accused from a distance, but he fled, leading to a chase where he leaped over durawalls. He was eventually apprehended by a police dog just a few meters away from his brother’s house,” explained Inspector Nomalanga Musebele.

Artwell Ndlovu was then arrested and taken into custody. At his arrest he did not explain what led to him allegedly murder his brother.

He awaits trail at the Magistrates Courts.

Authorities have urged members of the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and instead seek amicable ways to resolve disputes.
