Zimbabwe Senior men’s cricket team levelled up in the on going One-Day International series after beating Sri Lanka by 22 runs on Tuesday.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first.
The Chevrons skipper Craig Ervine put on a brilliant performance with 90 runs on the scoreboard.
Craig Ervine was voted player of the match.
His partnership with Sean Williams reached 50 runs, before Williams was dismissed by Chamike Karunaratne in the 48th Over.
Zimbabwe batted with precision setting 302 on the scoreboard losing 8 wickets from 50 Overs and 303 became the target for the hosts.
Sri Lanka batted but after 24 Overs they had already lost 4 wickets with only 122 runs, they needed 181 runs to win from 26 Overs.
They could not handle the pressure exerted by Zimbabwe bowlers.
Brilliant performance it was from the Chevrons with Blessing Muzarabani and Tendai Chatara adding 3 wickets on the scoreboard.
Zimbabwe levelled up the ODI series to 1-1.
Zimbabwe will face Sri Lanka on Friday for the final match of the ODI series the decider of the match.
