The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) has announced that as it continues to refurbish its power stations which have stood the test of time which need serious and urgent frequent maintenance, supply of power will be disrupted.
ZETDC released a statement to the effect that areas around Plumtree, Figtree, Bulawayo City Council’s Criterion Water Works, Marula, Tsholotsho, Nkulumane, Burnside, Hillside, Waterford, Douglasdale, Fourwinds, Emganwini, Rangemore and Nketa will go without electricity for hours on end.
The areas located within Bulawayo, Matabeleland North and South provinces will go for seven hours without electricity tomorrow as ZETDC will be carrying out maintenance works.
The maintenance development will take place from 9am to 4pm.
“The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) would like to advise its valued customers in the Western Region that there will be a power supply interruption on Friday 21 January 2022 from 0900 hours to 1600 hours for the purpose of carrying out critical maintenance.
Customers are advised to treat all circuits as LIVE during this period as power may be restored without notice. The inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted.”
Residents in the affected areas are warned to treat all connections as live, as there is a tendency by opportunistic thieves who will view this a chance to steal copper cables or worse still transformers.
