The judgment for Jameson Timba, the interim leader of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), along with 68 of his supporters, has been postponed to Friday.
This decision came after the presiding Magistrate, Collet Ncube, failed to appear in Court, leading to the hearing being rescheduled by his colleague, Donald Ndirowei.
- The group has been in custody since their arrest in June on charges related to participating in an unlawful gathering.
- Initially, there were 80 suspects in the case, but 12, including Timba’s son, Sean, were discharged during the proceedings.
- The entire group was acquitted of the charge of disorderly conduct.
The postponement means that the fate of Timba and his supporters remains uncertain as they await the new judgment date.
The lack of explanation for the Magistrate’s absence adds to the ongoing complexities of the case, which has drawn significant attention from the public and political observers.
