Man Bashes Thigh Vendor, Pleads with Court not to Let Wife Know

Godknows Nyevere Nyamadzawo, a 40-year-old man, has been convicted after pleading guilty to assaulting a sex worker.

He appeared before Magistrate Mildred Matuvi, who sentenced him to four months in jail, later commuted to 70 hours of community service at Dambudzo Primary School.

Details of the Incident

The incident occurred on October 19, 2024, around 11 PM at Mbizo 7 Big Bar. Nyamadzawo had paid the sex worker for her services and took her to his residence. However, when she refused to stay overnight, he assaulted her with his fists. The victim reported the assault to the police, leading to Nyamadzawo’s arrest.

Plea to the Court

During the proceedings, Nyamadzawo expressed remorse and made a heartfelt plea to the court, stating,

“I admit that I committed the offence but I am pleading with this court not to let my wife know about this because it will destroy my marriage.”

His request highlights the personal consequences he faces as a result of his actions.
