A dispute has erupted between a Harare pastor, Walter Tatenda Amon and car owner Panashe Chikambure over the use of a vehicle.
Panashe claims she gave Walter the car to use as an InDrive taxi, but he allegedly gave it to his wife as a gift and failed to remit US$300 in weekly installments.
Walter defends himself, stating he hired the car for personal use, not as an InDrive taxi. He claims they agreed on a US$750 monthly rental fee, paid weekly.
Key Points:
- Car Owner’s Claims: Panashe gave Walter the car for InDrive use, but he gave it to his wife and failed to pay US$300.
- Walter’s Defense: He hired the car for personal use, paying US$200 weekly, and his wife drove it as part of the rental agreement.
- Dispute Escalation: Panashe reported the case to the police, tracked down the car, and exposed Walter on Facebook.
- Counterclaim: Walter opened a defamation case against Panashe for involving his wife and child.
The matter is now in Harare Civil Court.
