In a disturbing incident from Hwange, a teacher named Oscar Ndlovu, aged 49, has come under police investigations after allegedly biting 23 students during a lesson at Neluswi Primary School in Jambezi.

The bizarre event unfolded when Ndlovu became enraged after his Grade Seven class failed to define the word “dynamic.”

According to reports, the incident occurred on October 3, 2024, when Ndlovu asked his students for the meaning of the word. Frustrated by their inability to respond, he reportedly lost control and began to bite the students as a form of punishment.

The first report was made by a 12-year-old female student, who was bitten on the shoulder.

Inspector Glory Banda, the Matabeleland North Provincial Police spokesperson, confirmed that the police were alerted to the situation on October 23, 2024. He stated,

“The complainant made a report of assault at ZRP Jambezi to the effect that she was bitten by an accused person who is her school teacher.”

The police are currently working to locate the other victims, as many of them have not yet reported the incident. The complainant has been referred to Victoria Falls Hospital for a medical examination.

The community has reacted with shock, with some speculating about possible underlying issues such as demonic possession or Satanism due to the teacher’s unusual behavior.

As investigations continue, Ndlovu has not yet been arrested, but the police are taking the matter seriously given the number of students affected.

This incident has raised significant concerns about the safety and well-being of students in the educational environment.
