In a game of football, at times tension rises between the players and the coach.
In most cases it ends sour as the board then decides to choose whom to lose between the two.
Its a melting pot at Stamford Bridge, as the same scenario is brewing.
There is tension between the overrated striker Romelu Lukaku and mastermind coach Thomas Tuchel that began towards the New year’s eve on the 30th of December 2021.
According to the reports, Lukaku is not happy with his role in the Chelsea team.
In an explosive interview with SkySport Italia, believed to have been held a few weeks ago, Lukaku vented his frustrations with his current responsibilities under Tuchel and repeatedly admitted his unhappiness with “the situation” at Stamford Bridge.
In his words he said, “Physically I’m fine, even better than before. After two years in Italy, in which I worked a lot at Inter with trainers and nutritionists, I am physically fine.
But I’m not happy with the situation, this is normal.
“I think the coach has chosen to play with another system, I just have to not give up and continue to work and be a professional.
Currently the Belgian foward regrets his move from the Serie A side Inter Milan to London side The Blues.
He expressed himself, “How I left Inter, how I communicated with the fans, this bothers me because it is not the right time now, but even when I left it was not the right time.
“Now I think it is right to speak because I have always said that I have Inter in my heart, I will return to play there, I really hope so.
“I am in love with Italy, this is rightly the time to talk and let people know what really happened without talking badly about people because I am not like that.”
Thomas Tuchel demanded more clarity from Lukaku’s ‘situation’ at Stamford Bridge.
Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring in EPL match against Brighton Hove and Albion played mid week.
After his ‘secret interview’ at his home it is clear that he angered the Chelsea board together with the head coach.
He was therefore punished and was left in the Liverpool fixture played on Sunday which ended in a 2-2 draw.
‘Rumors’ have stated that Lukaku is looking forward to re-unite with his former boss Antonio Conte at Spurs.
Apart from leaving him from the squad which faced Liverpool, Lukaku might be in hot soup and he could be fined by Chelsea for that secrete interview.
Lukaku was brought to Stamford Bridge in a club-record £97.5million transfer from Inter Milan less than five months ago but he is already dreaming of returning back to Italy.
The controverse between coaches and players started back in the days, with instances such as José Mourinho versus Paul Pogba, Pep Gaudiola and Yaya Toure, Antonio Conte versus Diego Costa just to mention a few.
The most recent one is Mikel Arteta versus Pierre-Emerick Aubemayang which saw Aubemeyang stripped off the arm band.
The former Arsenal captain could see himself moving away from the Emirates Stadium as he is no longer given game time ever since December 15 when he was stripped off his captaincy.
Back at Stamford Bridge Roman Abramovich cannot afford to lose Tuchel over Lukaku, they feel its more easier to replace Lukaku than to replace Tuchel.
Ever since Tuchel’s arrival at Stamford Bridge he has won the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, he was beaten in FA Cup final, Chelsea made it to the top four with average players.
A meeting was held on Monday afternoon, fans are hoping for a positive results from the meeting.
The fact remains no player is bigger than the club.
