A 57-year-old businessman from Bulawayo is facing allegations of repeatedly raping his 27-year-old maid, who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and mild intellectual disability, resulting in her pregnancy.
The victim’s condition renders her unable to give consent to sex, according to a doctor’s report.
The businessman allegedly began raping the maid in her bedroom, threatening to terminate her employment contract if she resisted. After discovering her pregnancy, he terminated her contract, and she returned home to give birth.
A DNA test confirmed the businessman’s paternity with 99.9% probability. He initially refused to pay maintenance but resumed payments of $60 per month after a court appearance.
The businessman’s son, also accused of raping the victim, was acquitted. However, the victim’s family plans to appeal this decision, citing her inability to consent to sex due to her condition.
Key Developments:
- Rape Allegations: Businessman accused of repeated rape, resulting in maid’s pregnancy.
