Liverpool FC new coach said he is thrilled by academy youngster Trey Nyoni’s development in the game.

Arne Slot was speaking at Anfield after Zimbabwean international scored his first goal in a friendly match again Sevilla.

“I’m thrilled to see Trey Nyoni score his first senior goal for Liverpool,” said coach Arne Slot.

“He’s a talented youngster, and we’re being cautious with his development to ensure he reaches his full potential.”

Nyoni, 17, netted a brilliant strike in the 66th minute of the friendly match against Sevilla, helping Liverpool secure a 4-1 victory.

“Trey did well, he was involved in the goal with a spot-on pass between the lines, and he was involved in our biggest chance in the second half,” Slot praised.

However, Slot emphasized the need for patience with Nyoni’s growth, saying,

“He’s only just turned 17, and his body still has to grow. We are really careful with him. He doesn’t join every session. You can see his quality. He needs some time to grow to play at Premier League level, but he’s an interesting player.”

Nyoni’s goal, although impressive, will not be recorded in official records since the match was a friendly encounter. Nevertheless, his performance has sparked excitement about his future with Liverpool and potentially the Zimbabwean national team, the Warriors.
