Kuwadzana, Harare – In a chilling and deeply unsettling case, Madzibaba Ezekiel, a religious leader based in Kuwadzana, Harare, stands accused of orchestrating the brutal murders of 11 of his relatives at his shrine. The alleged motive behind these heinous acts is his quest for absolute spiritual power.

Madzibaba Ezekiel, who has vehemently denied the accusations, is alleged to have enlisted the help of seven lieutenants in a grisly murder spree.

Among the victims was his own nephew, whose body was found horrifically mutilated. According to reports, the gang bound the young man at the shrine, where Madzibaba Ezekiel allegedly cut off portions of his buttocks, collected his blood, and performed rituals with it.

The case, which has sent shockwaves through the community, is currently being tried at Chief Makore’s traditional court in Zambara Village, Chiweshe.

The gravity of the allegations has prompted Chief Makore to involve the police, a decision that led Madzibaba Ezekiel and his accomplices to go into hiding.

Despite the serious charges against him, Madzibaba Ezekiel maintains his innocence, claiming that his actions were intended to help his nephew, not harm him.

His defense has been met with skepticism and outrage from the community and beyond, as the details of the case continue to unfold.

The trial at Chief Makore’s court is being closely watched, with many hoping for justice for the victims. The involvement of the police is expected to bring more clarity and hopefully, a resolution to this dark chapter.

As the community grapples with the horror of these events, the case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of blind faith and the potential for abuse of spiritual authority. The outcome of this trial will be critical in restoring a sense of safety and trust among the residents of Kuwadzana and the wider Harare region.
