ZIMBABWE’S HEALTH MINISTRY, led by Hon. Dr. Douglas Mombeshora has been given a ‘lecture’ by a private hospital on how a proper well run health care facility should operate.
The ‘lecture’ was given in absentia.
One of country’s best administered private hospital, Corporate24 Healthcare is offering free treatment to patients from Bulawayo, the City of Kings and Queens, but only for emergency situations.
Corporate24 boasts of several state of the art units around the country and have a state of the art facility in the City.
Corporate24 invited the press for a launch for this program that is set to run up until the end of this month, February.
An award winning Hospital that was founded in 2009, Corporate24 boasts of ‘a wide sprectum of high quality healthcare solutions in a holistic manner’
The hospital’s approach is designed to provide a one-stop shop for affordable and easy access to both emergency and walk-in patients.
The hospital is equiped with executive rooms well equiped with air conditioners, bedside nurse call system, satellite television as well as internet.
Corporate24 is a perfect example of how a health sector must operate in any country.
It is most unfortunate that like any other Ministry in Zimbabwe, the nation’s hospitals under health ministry are a shame.
In September last year, the nation lost one of the best doctors in the country, Dr. Nembaware who was based in Mutare.
The late Dr. Nembaware was traveling back to Mutare when the car he was traveling in burst a tyre, he was rushed to Mutate Provincial Hospital, were the much needed intensive care unit was non functional. Efforts to transferred to Harare but the hospital had no ambulance helicopter. The young doctor could not be saved.
A month later the famous musician Gary Mapanzure, battled for 12 hours for life when he was involved in a car accident in Masvingo. The late ‘Afropop’ musician would have been alive today but again, there was no prerequisite equipment in Masvingo to carter for his serious injuries.
At Masvingo Provincial Hospital, Gary’s family members were told that the hospital had no a computed tomography (TC) scan system used in healthcare to detect injuries around the body. He was also unable to be ferried to Harare as there were not even one ambulance with oxygen support system on board.
Corporate 24 healthcare joined the private sector to provide far much better healthcare facilities to substitute the crumbling government health institutions.
Yesterday Corporate24 launched the free emergency treatment for residents of Bulawayo and Harare.
“We have realised that most people are not ready for emergencies. Most people don’t know what to do when there is an emergency, how to handle it, who to call and all together how to manage an emergency.
We will provide free treatment for all emergencies so whether there is a road accident in Bulawayo, any side of Bulawayo, road accident in Harare or any side of Harare or surrounding areas of these two cities.
We are handling all emergencies for free.” Said Vusi Moyo, the Corporate24 healthcare marketing manager.
