LIZWE SWESWE wants Bulawayo Chiefs to continue with the momentum after their first Castle Lager Premier League win of the season.
Bulawayo Chiefs Football Club finally got their first win of the season when they cruised past the struggling Dynamos 3-2 last week at National Sports Stadium.
Mthokozisi Msebe was the highlight of the entertaining match played in the Capital, registering one goal and two assists in his name.
Given the competitive nature of the 2023-24 PSL campaign so far, the Ninjas’ gaffer, who took over from Nilton Terosso and Thulani Sibanda, feels getting positive results in every game is a necessary confidence booster for his charges.
“I would like to congratulate the boys on that win against Dynamos…We have been trying to build, its not about the Dynamos game. From the past, the boys have been playing very well. What was just lacking was that killer punch to post positive results and post a win to gain the confidence, to foresee that the process is going very well.” Said Sweswe.
He said the win against DeMbare is indeed the moral booster, “but I’m preaching everyday that we do not prepare for one game but we prepare for many league games.”
The daring and ambitious Ninjas now target Yadah FC to earn more points which will guarantee the Bulawayo side’s survival in the PSL.
“We taking each game as it comes and it is not about being on cloud nine because we defeated Dynamos. All teams in the league are the same, whether you playing Yadah or Dynamos, the approach is the same
What is important now, Dynamos game is over and we approaching a new game. So we have different approaches, strategies and plans for each game. This is a new game, totally different so we pray we go there and we try to implement things we have been doing in training. Which will give us positive results.” Said Sweswe.
In the opening fixtures, the Twitter Kings have shown they can perform under pressure and the win over the Harare giants has surely boasted the confidence of Amakhosi Amahle. The let down is Obriel Chirinda who is in doubt for tomorrow’s clash due to injury.
