As the abuse of Drug and Substance continues to inflict the Zimbabwean communities, many stakeholders have joined in the fight against the fast spreading pandemic.
Founder of Goodness and Mercy Ministries Church, self-proclaimed Prophet, Tapiwa Freddy, popularly known as T. Freddy, has joined the fray in fighting drug and substance abuse through music.
The man of God, as the self-styled Prophets want to be called has composed a song a titled ‘AMA2K (CYCLONE)’ to send a message to teenagers, encouraging them to desist from activities which promote moral decadence.
T. Freddy’s song addresses the issue of illicit drug and substance abuse which is increasing unabated among youths in Zimbabwe on a daily basis. The commonly used substances include inhaled glue, bronchlee, mangemba, marijuana, crystal meth and the fast growing vaping. In the song, T. Freddy also touched on the issue of early pregnancies and parent deceiving.
Using the ever popular Zim Dance-hall genre, T. Freddy who doubles up as a gospel musician, sent his message to the youths who are ardent followers of such music.
Statistics and hospital records have shown that most Ama2k are drugs and substance abusers.
The abuse of drugs and substance is due to redundancy and peer pressure.
“The issues have to come out, its everyone’s responsibility to tackle drug abuse. We need to pray, sing and call upon our youths to understand that, a clarion call must be made”, said Freddy.
