THE Squash Rackets Association of Zimbabwe (SRAZ) under Lucky Mlilo will this month host the World Squash Federation (WSF) level one coaching course.
The event is set to take place at St John’s College in the capital, Harare and is scheduled from 31 March to 2 April, 2023. South Africa’s Liz Mackenzie will be the facilitator. The registration fee for the course is pegged at US$50.
Commenting on the upcoming event, the SRAZ chairman Lucky Mlilo who is also the Squash Federation of Africa (SFA) president said Squash has played a pivotal role in terms of sports tourism and its an honor for Zimbabwe to be hosting such a prestigious event.
“SRAZ is delighted to be hosting such a high level event like this one as part of the Squash Federation of Africa’s thrust of developing coaches on the African continent.The course will be attended by largely Zimbabwean coaches who would like to become World Squash accredited coaches.”
He said the event will benefit Africa in the long run of developing Squash in the continent.
“The coaches are responsible for nurturing junior and senior talents in schools and clubs. Hence Africa as a whole will benefit tremendously from these certification programmes.” He said. Countries expected to participate are Zimbabwe (hosts), Zambia, Malawi, Kenya, Zanzibar and Uganda.
