HORNETS EDGE CLOSER TO THE LEAGUE TITTLE

The CHRISTIAN Brothers College (CBC) Hornets are edging closer to the Bulawayo Metropolitan Rugby Football Board (BMRFB) Under-20 League title after another win on Saturday at Hartsfield Rugby Grounds with only one game to go.

The Hornets defeat the third placed Raging Bulls 31 – 3 to go four point clear at the top of the table as the league come closer to the end.

The Hornets has played all 4 games and won all of them, scoring 108 points and conceding 29. The CBC Hornets are still undefeated after their win against the Raging Bull on Saturday.

In other matches that took place on Saturday at Hartsfield Rugby Grounds, the second placed Western Suburbs Academy won a close game against the Bulldogs 19-12 to keep up the pressure on the log leader who are still undefeated.

The Academy side has won three and lost one game, scoring 114 points and conceding 47 in the process. They also have three bonus points.

In the first match of the day, Old Miltonians edged Highlanders 11-0 to earn their first win of the season at the latter stages of the competition.

In Harare’s Paramount Garments Under-20, the Pitbulls continued their fine form with yet another win after edging second placed Old Hararians 34-28.

Harare Sports Club thumped Horns 41-7 while Northern Chiefs won 26-14 against Zimbiru and Old Georgians thumped FS Raiders 43-0.

After the matches on Saturday, the Pitbulls are still on top of the log with thirty-five points while the Old Hararians in second place are on thirty-one points. Old Georgians (OGs) occupy third place with twenty-one points and at the bottom are Zimbiru and Horns who have six and zero points respectively.

Both the Bulawayo and Harare league continue this coming weekend.
