The Zimbabwean female boxer Kudakwashe ‘Take Money Chiwandire is ready to take on Mexican boxer Yamileth Mecardo in what may be the biggest battle of her career so far
‘Take Money’ will travel to Chihuahua, Mexico on March 18th 2023.
This mandatory fight between the Zimbabwean fighter Chiwandire and Macardo will take place at the Gimnasio Manuel Bernardo Aguirre Arena in the Mexican capital.
The Zimbabwean is going into this fight as the underdog, considering that the twenty-four year old champion Mecardo has defended her title, the WBC championship gold five times since winning it in 2019.
Mecardo has a perfect record of nineteen wins and three losses and won five of then with knockout while Chiwandire has a record of six wins (four of them knockouts wins), two losses and a draw.
If ‘Take Money’ defeats the Mexican, it will be like a belated birthday gift since she had celebrated her birthday on the 27th February.
The Zimbabwean boxer is no stranger to bouts against Mexicans as she did it before when she defeated Zulina Munoz last year in October at Harare International Conference Center.
“I will not make any excuses if I lose the fight because I’m not going to lose in Mexico despite the fact that I will be fighting on the home soil of the champ cause I will not let that distract me from achieving my goal,” said Kudakwashe Chiwandire.
“I vow to deliver the same performance I did when I won my World Boxing Council super-bantamweight world title,” added ‘Take Money’ Chiwandire.
“I’m also very excited about this fight not only of the opportunity it is giving me as individual, but for the great opportunities it gives our boxing and nation as large,” said Chiwandire.
Both Chiwandire and her team are itching for this match and can not wait to bring the gold back home.
