The Movement for Democratic Change- Tsvangirai(MDC-T) has dispelled media reports that advance that founding president Morgan Tsvangirai’s son, Vincent has been recalled from parliament for joining the ruling party ZANU-PF.
The MDC-T’s spokesperson Chengetai Guta told Zim GBC News that the member of parliament for Glenview South, Vincent Tsvangirai has not joined the ruling ZANU-PF Party. Guta also dismissed and repeats that suggest that Vincent Tsvangirai had been recalled from parliament by the M.D.C.
“Vincent Tsvangirai is not or was not recalled from the Parliament, he is still a member of our party until otherwise,” said Guta.
Meanwhile, another M.D.C spokesperson Witness Dube has been quoted in a leaked WhatsApp message saying Vincent Tsvangirai’s alleged defection is nothing worth making news headlines.
“But anyone can be recalled in the MDC, including Vincent Tsvangirai, if he decides to so fight the party that we can’t coexist with him. There is a precedent of a Tsvangirai family member joining our arch opponent, Zanu PF, which means that no political membership is cast in stone. People can voluntarily terminate it, or so motivate the party to assist by doing it on their behalf,” said the Bulawayo based former right hand man of Dr Thokozani Khupe. Below we publish the statement that has been circulating.
