Producers of popular social media video-based show The CouchChat have revealed that they are facing challenges in the funding of this platform that attempts to bridge the gap between the older generation and youngsters.
“We started this program after realising that the divide between the older generation and young people continues to grow. Therefore, by providing an interactive platform for the two demographic groups to engage we saw an improvement in social relations,” said Royce Gavi one of the producers.
“The show became an instant hit at it’s inception but that success came with costs.” Gavi added.
Jercy Blessing Moyo, the other half of The CouchChat production team added that if no sponsor comes along , the duo may be forced to cancel this popular show. However, if they can secure funding, the producers of The CouchChat intend to make it available on social media platforms and mainstream television.
Besides producing The CouchChat show, Royce and Jercy are involved with Theatre and Modelling.
