After being overlooked again in Aston Villa’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool, does it mean that Zimbabwean international midfielder Marvelous Nakamba’s time at the club is up?
There are unconfirmed reports though that the twenty-eight year old Hwange born midfielder may have been put on the transfer list with four other players.
The former Nancy defensive midfielder who arrived at Villa Park in 2019 for a fee of €12 million has been affected by a series of injuries which may have dented his stay at Aston Villa.
His best moment at Villa Park was when he was voted by fans as the player of the month in November 2021, following a string of sublime performances under the tutelage of then Aston Villa Manager Steven Gerrard.
Fast forward to the present, the Zimbabwe international team player, Nakamba has failed to impress Unai Emery, the current Aston Villa Manager who however prefers players such as Oly Watkins, Phillipe Coutinho, Boubacar Camara, Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Sanson.
Zim GBC News crew went out to the streets of Bulawayo to hear insights of warriors fans on the subject of matter.
“uNakamba ngabe vele uyahle asuke kuAston Villa aye kweyinye iclub ezamnikeza ithuba lokudlala ngoba kuzambulalela ibhora lakhe, yistar player yethu esithembileyo phela leyo kumid.”
( Nakamba should just leave Aston Villa straight away and pursue other options where he will get adequate game time because the dry spell at Aston Villa will destroy his football, something we would not want to happen as we still need him in the Warriors squad fit .) Said SaNkazi from Magwegwe surbubs.
“Nakamba hapachisina bhora paya anongofanira kungosiyana nazvo asiire vapfana vadiki zvebhora zvamuramba.”
( Nakamba is no longer good at football, henceforth he must just quit and give the next generation a chance .)Stated another warriors fan who identified himself as Dickson.
“Aston Villa should just let Nakamba go or loan him out to any other club where he would get enough game time just like what Lyon did to Kadewere by loaning him to Marloca rather than frustrating him with game-time deficiency.” Stated Ronald Ndlovu another staunch warriors and Highlanders supporter.
