MUNCH AND SIP BACK FOR THE LAST TIME THIS YEAR

The much-anticipated return of food and beverage festival, Munch and Sip has been penciled for this Friday (30th of December 2022) at Criterion park in Burnside.

The festival who’s popularity has been sky rocketing is now partnered by Zimbabwe parks and wildlife management and local supermarket chain Greens.

“The preparations are going smooth, though with a couple of bumps here and there”, said one of the organisers, Simbisai Chimbima.

The main objective for the festival is to create lifestyle events with quality entertainment for the young and old, it does not just involve drinking but conscious appreciation of an event that makes people feel good. The festival is aimed at generating local produced food through education and promotion. It is dubbed the ultimate food and drink festival in Bulawayo.

“Over the years the event has grown to become the huge event it is now and we are excited that its managing to connect food and music lovers”, said the founder of the event Mandipa Masuku.

The previous edition of the festival, which was held in August at the Matopo Sailing club attracted a record breaking crowd of more than 3 000 food enthusiasts.

The festival is a product of Lemongroove Events, a lifestyle promotions company based in Bulawayo. Before the the covid 19 pandemic broke out, Munch and Sip was held after every two months, on the last Sunday of the second month.

Fridays event is expected to feature entertainment from Anita Jackson and The travelers band alongside local deejays.

The cheapest tickets that were pegged at US$5 (advance), have been sold out with only US$10 tickets left.

More than five top chefs from across Matabeleland Region are expected to display their signature dishes at pop up restaurants that will be dotted across the venue. Distillers will also be available to provide some alcoholic beverages.
