Eveline High School recently hosted the Polytechnic Colleges Sports Games, a platform for students to showcase their athletic prowess alongside their academic abilities.
The event aimed to equip students with an extra set of skills, foster healthy competition, and promote extracurricular activities that enhance fast thinking and critical thinking.
The boys’ basketball match between Bulawayo Polytechnic College and Gweru Polytechnic College stole the show, drawing a large audience. The intense game saw both teams trading points, with Bulawayo ultimately emerging victorious 52-24.
“Such sports events encourage students to engage in extracurricular activities that develop their critical thinking and teamwork skills,” said Mthokozisi Moyo.
Other sports featured at the event included boys’ and girls’ volleyball. Participating colleges were Bulawayo Polytechnic College, Harare Polytechnic College, Mutare Polytechnic College, Gweru Polytechnic College, and several others.
The sports gala promoted a healthy dose of competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students, making it a resounding success.
