Vincent Aboubakar showed a stellar moment in the group stages but his side failed to go through the knockout phase but Rigoberto Song’s side bowed out in style with moments to savour.
Cameroon came to the game against the South Americans knowing they had slim chances of progressing because of their opening-game defeat to Switzerland and a 3-3 draw against Serbia.
The number 10 talisman from Cameroon was already on a yellow card before he headed home the winner. After scoring he took off his shirt and he was given a second yellow card, an automatic red card. The match official shaked the scorer’s hand and Aboubakar walked off the pitch with a smile on his face.
The goal came in stoppage time and Ngom Mbekeli provided the assist.
The goal moved his tally to 38 goals, 18 goals behind Samuel Eto’o, Cameroon’s all time leading goalscorer.
